Whether you will be moving into a new apartment, or borrowing a loan, chances are you will have your credit report pulled by a landlord or lender. Understanding your credit report and how it is used will help you get the best rates and save money in the long-term.
Don’t wait until tax season to research tax benefits. The earlier you know about tax credits and deductions available to you, the sooner you can plan.
- Student loan deduction you can reduce your taxable income by up to $2,500 if you are paying student loan interest. The lower your taxable income, the lower the amount of tax you must pay.
- Lifetime Learning Credit : If you paid for education expenses this year, then you may be eligible for up to $2,000 in a lifetime learning credit that would directly reduce the tax you must pay.
- Massachusetts Rent Paid Deduction: Paid rent in Massachusetts? You may be eligible for up to $3,000 tax deduction or $2,500 for non-residents.
- Federal Moving Expense Deduction: If you meet certain requirements, you may be eligible to deduct moving expenses due to the start of a job in a new location.
