84th Annual Meeting & Charter Change
On Tuesday, March 26, 2024 Harvard Federal Credit Union held its 84th Annual Meeting, immediately followed by a Special Member Meeting to vote on a potential charter change for the institution.
Members in attendance at the Harvard Faculty Club heard about the Harvard FCU’s 2023 performance from a variety of speakers, including Harvard FCU Chairman Jason Luke, President and CEO Craig Leonard, and CFO Katie Armstrong. The Harvard FCU 2023 Annual Report, which includes business highlights and financial results highlights from the last year, was distributed at the meeting, You can find a digital version of the report here. Also at the meeting, Board Clerk April Edrington facilitated the re-election of five incumbent Directors, who were all running unopposed. Congratulations to Directors: Thomas Lucey, Dennis Campbell, Jeremiah Murphy, Dee Dee Chen, and Gonzalo Munoz Sanz, who will extend their Harvard FCU tenure.
At the Special Meeting, members in attendance were able to cast their vote on whether Harvard FCU should convert from a state chartered credit union to a federally chartered credit union. The in-person votes were added to the mail-in ballots collected in advance of the meeting, confirming that the conversion was approved by a nearly 3-to-1 margin. “I am delighted to confirm that our members have resoundingly voted to move the Credit Union into our next chapter,” said Craig Leonard, President and CEO. “With this directive, we are looking forward to a new phase of growth, driven by enhanced service offerings and new audiences in our field of membership.”
Harvard FCU will continue to keep members informed as the charter change plans develop in the coming months.
