Congratulations 2025 Scholarship Winners!

Each year, Harvard FCU gives out college scholarships to support the children of our members. This year, we received 110 applications from high school seniors for the scholarship. A volunteer scholarship review committee composed of our members chose ten students to each receive the $1,500 scholarship.

Craig Leonard, President and CEO of the Credit Union, said, “Every year, it is difficult to select the winners. The essays were highly original, and the caliber of all the applicants was exceptional. We hope the scholarship prizes will have a positive impact on all of the winners. Congrats to the Class of 2025 and to our winners!”

We are grateful to our committee members, who were members through many of our eligible groups, including the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers, Harvard College alumni, Harvard Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Science, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard Business School, Massachusetts General Hospital, the Harvard Medical School, the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Mass. Eye and Ear, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and more. One of our review committee volunteers expressed his gratitude thus: “This is the second year that I’ve I served on the review committee. The experience reading essays by such remarkable talent was inspiring. Some of the applicants had overcome so much. I also appreciated the sense of the Credit Union community. The other readers were also invested in the process in a way that I found energizing. Happy, also, to give back to the Credit Union for its support of my student loans during these Harvard University doctoral student days.”

The winners were notified on April 28th, and they have expressed their deep gratitude for the support. “Thank you for this incredible scholarship opportunity,” said one winner. “This made my week!”
