Debit Card Experience Upgrades
Your Harvard FCU Debit Card Experience Is Getting an Upgrade!
An upgraded card processing platform, enhanced support, and a new Card Center experience are on the way.
We’re making some exciting improvements to your Harvard FCU debit card experience!
Beginning October 19, 2026, Harvard FCU is transitioning to Fiserv, our new debit card processing partner. This upgrade is part of our ongoing commitment to providing members with better technology, enhanced security, and more convenient ways to manage their finances.
As part of this transition, we’ll also be introducing Card Center, our updated card management experience, designed to give you more control over your debit card.
What Does This Mean for Your Debit Card?
The good news is that there’s very little you need to do!
Your existing Harvard FCU debit card will continue to work. You do not need to replace your card, and you can continue making everyday purchases and ATM withdrawals throughout the transition. Your recurring card payments and automatic transactions are also expected to continue without interruption.
Your existing debit card spending limits will remain unchanged.
Coming Soon: Introducing Card Center
One of the most exciting parts of this upgrade is the introduction of Card Center, an enhanced card management experience that makes it easier to manage your debit card when and where you need to.
With the new Card Center, you’ll have access to convenient self-service features, including:
- Turn your debit card on or off.
- Review card activity and see why a transaction may have been declined.
- Set travel notifications up to 90 days in advance (previously 30 days).
- Manage debit card needs, including card activation and transaction disputes.
- Access improved card management tools and support.
Card Center is expected to become available in early November. We’ll share additional information, including how to access and start using Card Center, as we get closer to launch.
Important Dates & What to Expect During the Upgrade
While your existing debit card will continue to work, certain card-related services will be temporarily limited as we transition to our new processing platform.
Here’s what you should know:
October 5–18 | New & Replacement Card Orders
New and replacement debit card orders will be temporarily delayed, with processing resuming October 19. If you need a debit card immediately, please visit one of our branches to obtain and activate an instantly issued card before noon on October 14.
Instant card issuance will also be temporarily unavailable October 19–21, resuming October 22.
October 19 | Card Processing Upgrade
Our debit card processing transition takes place! Beginning October 19, the existing Harvard FCU Cards App will no longer support debit cards as we prepare to introduce the new Card Center.
During this temporary transition period, if you need assistance turning your debit card on or off or submitting a travel notification, please contact our Support Center at 617-495-4460 or visit a branch.
Please note: Credit card management within the existing Harvard FCU Cards App will remain available.
October 19 – Approximately November 10 | Digital Wallet Enrollment
Adding a debit card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet will be temporarily unavailable during the transition. The restoration date is subject to Apple and Google approval.
Debit cards already enrolled in a digital wallet will continue to work as usual.
Late October – November | ATM Upgrades
We’ll also be upgrading our Harvard FCU ATMs throughout late October and November. Some locations will experience temporary downtime during this process.
The Harvard Square ATM will be unavailable October 24–November 9. Additional ATM locations will be upgraded on a staggered schedule, with notices provided at impacted locations.
Need to Dispute a Debit Card Transaction?
Our debit card dispute process is also transitioning to our new processing partner.
From October 5–18, please visit our Dispute a Transaction webpage for instructions on submitting a new debit card dispute.
Beginning October 19, please call 833-735-1894 for assistance with new debit card disputes. This will be a temporary process until dispute submission becomes available through Card Center.
